Hunter Sensors

Hunter sensors stop your controller watering when it shouldn’t, which is where most of the water saving in an irrigation system actually comes from. They fall into a few types depending on what you want the system to react to.

Rain. A rain sensor interrupts the cycle once enough rain has fallen. The Mini-Clik is the wired original; the Rain-Clik responds faster; the Wireless Rain-Clik saves running a cable back to the controller, which matters on a retrofit.

Wind. Wind-Clik pauses the cycle when it’s blowing hard enough that the spray would be carried off before it lands, then resumes once it drops. Worth having on exposed sites and anywhere spray drift onto a road or a neighbour is a problem.

Weather. Solar Sync goes further than rain alone, measuring sunlight and temperature to adjust run times daily through the seasons. It works with most Hunter controllers. Hydrawise controllers do the same job from the forecast without needing a sensor at all.

Flow. A flow meter watches how much water the system is actually using and tells the controller when something is wrong, which is how you catch a burst line before the bill does.
