Hunter Irrigation – Warranty, Returns, and Refund Policy (South Australia)
Welcome to Hunter Irrigation’s official Returns and Warranty Policy. This page explains everything you need to know about returns, refunds, and warranty claims for irrigation products purchased from us. Our Hunter Irrigation Returns Policy is designed to ensure your peace of mind while staying fully compliant with Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
1. Introduction At Hunter Irrigation, we strive to provide high-quality irrigation products and excellent customer service. This policy outlines our procedures for returns, refunds, and warranty claims, in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
2. Australian Consumer Law (ACL) Guarantees Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the ACL. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
3. Change of Mind Returns We understand that sometimes customers may need to return items, which is why the Hunter Irrigation Returns Policy offers a clear change-of-mind process with a small restocking fee.
However, we are not obligated to provide a refund or exchange for change-of-mind purchases. If we choose to accept a return for change of mind, the following conditions apply:
- The item must be returned within 14 days of purchase.
- The item must be in its original, unused, and resalable condition, including all original packaging and tags.
- Proof of purchase must be provided (e.g., receipt, order confirmation).
- A 20% restocking fee will apply.
- The customer is responsible for the return postage costs.
Why We Charge a Restocking Fee A 20% restocking fee is applied to change-of-mind returns to cover:
- Inspection and Processing: Staff time spent verifying and processing the return.
- Repackaging: Costs for replacement packaging materials, as opened packages often cannot be resold as new.
- Inventory Management: Time and systems costs to re-enter stock into inventory.
- Packing and Postage Costs: Resources involved in the original shipment.
4. Goods Damaged or Faulty on Arrival If your order arrives damaged in transit, or the product is faulty when first used, please contact us within 7 days with:
- Your order number.
- A description of the fault or damage.
- Photographic evidence, if possible.
We will assess the issue and provide a remedy in accordance with the ACL:
- If the fault is minor, we may offer a repair, replacement, or refund.
- If the fault is major, you may choose a refund or replacement.
We will cover the return postage costs for goods damaged or faulty on arrival.
For faults that appear after the product has been installed and in use, see Section 5, Warranty Claims.
5. Warranty Claims Many of our products are covered by manufacturer warranties. Warranty periods vary depending on the product — please refer to the Hunter Industries Warranty page for specific information: https://www.hunterindustries.com/en-metric/warranty
Hunter Industries assess all warranty claims on their products. We lodge the claim on your behalf through Hunter’s Australian distributor, and Hunter make the decision on whether the claim is approved.
To make a warranty claim:
- Contact us by email with your order number and a detailed description of the fault.
- Where possible, email us photos of the product as installed before you remove it.
- Return the product to us, including your proof of purchase, a written description of the fault, and your name, phone number and return address.
- We forward the product to Hunter’s Australian distributor, who lodges the claim with Hunter Industries for assessment.
- We will notify you of the outcome as soon as Hunter’s assessment is returned to us.
If the claim is approved, we will arrange a replacement at no cost to you, and we will cover the postage of the replacement.
Please note that damage caused by incorrect installation, over-tightening of fittings, the use of thread tape or tools where the product specifies hand-tightening, misuse, or normal wear and tear is not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
Return postage: Return postage to us is at your cost. If the warranty claim is approved, we will reimburse your return postage up to the cost of standard Australia Post parcel delivery, on production of a receipt.
Nothing in this section limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
